First of all Hope is a noun that reflects the personal desire for a certain possible to occur. It is a sense of wanting something to happen and expecting it to happen in the presence of uncertainty and hesitation.
Hope possesses many qualities and can range from something minor to long-lasting crave for something big and important. In literal sense, hope is the belief in vague rules according to which things take place in the world. In other words, hope the faith in miraculous and surprising events, which although may not happen are expected to happen by people with hope.
One should remember that in the ancient Greece, according to various Greek myths, hope was the only spirit that was left after Pandora opened Pandora’s Box. According to the myth, all the misfortunes and grievances would escape the box and become a part of human life. Hope was the only thing present in the box and guaranteed that in all cases humans have the hope regardless of the difficulty or the situation. In mythological sense, hope is what keeps people going under harsh conditions and crucibles.
In Christian theology, hope is considered to be one of the most important virtues that should be used by believers in church. Hope is what glorified the holy Trinity and proves that a person indeed believes in what is written in the holy bible as well as in eternal life promised by God to true believers. As one can understand in religions sense, hope is what underlies religion. Any religion operates according to a certain set of vague rules with somewhat uncertain outcomes and promises. The religious hope is what constitutes a believer, or a person who believes that the religious rules are correct and need to be followed in order to keep up the religions expectations and tradition.
On a more practical level, hope is faith in or theory that states that things can happen if they are expected and believed in. People all over the world study with hopes of getting a decent job. Despite the fact that education is no 100% guarantee to getting the best job available, the belief of many people (students and employers) in education means that they hope that each class they take brings them closer to the desired condition. Many people hope to meet someone, implying that although they meet many people on a regular basis, they expect to meet someone special who would cater their expectations. By the same token hope of finding a reciprocal love, states that someone expects other people (over which she/he has no or little control) to show the same respect, passion and friendliness and she/he feels towards them.
In conclusion, I would like to note that hope is an abstract thing that means expectation and belief in something over which one has little or no control at all. Hope is the reserve engine that keeps people moving during the time when something is craved yet its availability and outcome is uncertain. Hope is what sometimes simplifies people’s thinking tells them what to expect from the future.
